Next, I settled into some reading, finding I steamed through a few Conan Doyle stories as silence rung around me. This silence characterised the day, and despite going out to do a Reformer Pilates session and to go for a walk around the park where I encountered lots of people, I felt less harassed by the world, less like it demanded from me something I couldn’t give it, more like I existed in a bubble of calm away from the fray. Where is your favourite destination and why? Nepal, I have such special memories there from trips in recent years. The people, culture and food are so beautiful. How did we get here? After all, a few years ago, fur was all but dead. Kering, the luxury conglomerate that owns Gucci, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, among many others, banned the use of fur by its brands in 2021. Net-a-Porter, Vinted and By Rotation have no fur policies. Even traditional furriers, like Fendi, have increasingly moved away from using fur in recent years, diversifying to focus instead on categories like leather goods.
