Barron Trump’s return to the online arena: From bullied child to brains behind the bro-vote

Despite his hulking stature, Barron keeps a relatively low profile. He hasn’t given any interviews and there is much speculation around what his voice is like nowadays. As a child Barron sounded much like his mother who is from Slovenia. “He spend most of the time with me, so,” Melania explained on CNN in 2010. A video resurfaced recently of a four-year-old Barron running around his father’s office, saying “I like my suitcase!” in a thick Slavic accent, before adding “I have to go to school now.” He goes up to his father who says “I want all A’s!” as he kisses him goodbye. ”And when you get older, what are you going to remember?” he asks, waggling a finger. “No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes. And! You know what else? No tattoos. I don’t ever want to see tattoos on you.”  Source link...

Jamie Oliver’s most controversial moments and the backlash to Billy and the Epic Escape

This is not the first time Jamie Oliver has found himself in the hot seat. In 2016 Oliver was labelled a “mansplainer” for advocating that mothers should breastfeed their children. Speaking on LBC radio, Oliver said that the “we have the worst breastfeeding in the world”, even though “it’s easy, it’s more convenient, it’s more nutritious, it’s better, it’s free”. While some were in agreement with Oliver’s sentiments, others felt he was not necessarily the best person to dispense postnatal advice. “We didn’t know what to do with our nipples until Jamie Oliver popped his head above the parapet,” joked one female LBC phone-in, while others pointed out that not all women can breastfeed. Why a Christmas advert has led to ‘boycott Boots’ trending online

It’s Christmas advert season and one in particular has ruffled the feathers of the Twittersphere. Boots’ yuletide offering is called “Make Magic” and features Bridgerton actress Adjoa Andoh playing a very organised Mrs Claus. It’s a classic of the genre with a twist: with hours to go before Christmas, Santa Claus is snoring in his chair, so his wife takes action. Elves run around Santa’s workshop, rebranded as “Mrs Claus’s werkshop”, gifts pile up on a sleigh, and there are lots of baubles, tinsel and glitter. Nothing completely out of the ordinary, except the advert has caused the hashtag #BoycottBoots to trend on X, formerly Twitter, since its release on Thursday.  Source link

Best London hotels under £300 a night: from The Laslett to Mama Shelter

Understated and unbelievably stylish for its rates, the Pilgrim sits opposite Paddington station, where the tube zooms into central London, trains chug commuters in from all over, and the Heathrow Express zips passengers to the airport in 15 minutes. It’s winning in the convenience stakes, but surprisingly also in design. The building’s Victorian character has been keenly preserved amid a colossal revamp, and most of it, from the modish furniture to the elegant parquet floor, has been upcycled. And scattered across its cavernous spaces and light-filled room is a smattering of ever-changing art, deftly curated for the cool crowd that descends on this hip, community-focused hub. Source link
