Infant mortality rate (IMR) in the country has touched a record low of 25, a sharp dip of 37.5 per cent from 40 in 2013, according to the Sample Registration System report for 2023 issued by the Registrar General of India. According to the SRS 2023 report, which took into account the data for 2023, IMR has registered a dramatic 80 per cent decline from 129 in 1971. It shows that Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh reported the highest levels of IMR in the country at 37. The lowest was Manipur at 3. Trump attending the US Open. Any boos may not be seen on TV – National

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. President Donald Trump is attending the U.S. Open on Sunday as a guest of Rolex despite imposing steep tariffs on the Swiss watchmaker’s home country and with organizers seeking to keep off-court disruptions — such as audience members booing him — from being seen on the TV broadcast. Trump has built the bulk of his second term’s domestic travel around attending major sports events rather than hitting the road to make policy announcements or address the kind of large rallies he so relished as a candidate. He’ll be watching the men’s final between second-seeded Carlos Alcaraz, a 22-year-old Spaniard, and No. 1 seed and defending champion Jannik Sinner, 24, of Italy, from Rolex’s suite. The president’s acceptance of Rolex’s invitation comes mere weeks after the Trump admini...

Here’s When iOS 26 Will Likely Drop

The iPhone 17 is nearly upon us. Next week, Apple will take the virtual stage and announce its next generation of smartphones. There will be some big updates, like the ultra-thin iPhone Air and redesigned camera bump on the Pro, as well as some standard revisions, like the iPhone 17.But while Apple's new iPhones may be quite different, what they all have in common is they'll very likely ship with iOS 26, Apple's latest and great iPhone OS, out of the box. Apple has big plans for iOS 26, including the new Liquid Glass redesign, fresh messaging features, updates to Apple Music, among many other changes. You won't need to buy an iPhone 17 series device in order to run iOS 26, of course: Apple is supporting iPhone 11 and newer with this upcoming update. What this means is that iOS 26 will nee...

The life-saving transplant was carried out on August 26 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, where doctors replaced the patient`s failing heart with the donor organ. The transportation across two states ensured the heart arrived in optimal condition, significantly improving the chances of success, hospital officials said Wednesday. The patient had been suffering from severe mitral valve leakage and worsening breathing difficulties for the past four years, requiring multiple ICU admissions. PCOS cases rising; lifestyle modifications key to manage condition: Experts

As September marks PCOS Awareness Month, experts have voiced concern over its growing prevalence and impact on women`s health, especially as stigma and lack of awareness delay diagnosis. Globally, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects 6-26 per cent of women, and in India, nearly 1 in 5 young women. Despite being among the most common hormonal disorders, it often goes undiagnosed. Alarmingly, nearly 70 per cent of cases remain unidentified, experts said. PCOS is a hormonal disorder causing irregular periods, weight gain, acne, excess hair growth and infertility. Often marked by fluid-filled sacs on the ovaries, it extends beyond reproductive issues, increasing risks of insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and even endometrial cancer.
