Two Much Kajol Twinkle Khanna react to backlash over comments

Twinkle Khanna and Kajol have created significant negative buzz for their views on marriage and relationships on their talk show Two Much. The hosts have now reacted to the criticism, clarifying that their remarks were meant to be lighthearted. They also admitted that the show should have included a disclaimer from the beginning.

In the episode featuring Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma, Kajol and Twinkle indirectly addressed the trolls, saying they should have added a disclaimer. Kajol said, “Now it’s time for our next segment, which has gotten us into a lot of trouble,” adding that here, “opinions don’t matter as much as lighthearted teasing.”

Twinkle added that the disclaimer should have been included in the very first episode: “And there’s a disclaimer, which we should have had from the first episode, that nothing we say in this segment should be taken seriously. Please don’t follow any of our advice in this segment.”

When Kajol and Twinkle faced backlash

The backlash began earlier when, in a recurring segment, the hosts revisited their controversial takes. In an initial episode featuring Karan Johar and Janhvi Kapoor, the two hosts said that physical infidelity was “not a deal breaker” for them. When Karan said, “Physical infidelity is not a deal breaker,” Janhvi disagreed, saying, “No, the deal is broken.” Twinkle then added, “We’re in our 50s, she’s in her 20s, and she will get into this circle soon. She hasn’t seen the things we have seen. Raat gayi baat gayi (What’s happened has happened).”

In another episode, Kajol stated that marriages should come with an expiry date; Twinkle did not agree with her. When asked, “Marriage should have an expiry date and a renewal option,” Kajol replied, “I definitely think so. Who says you will get married to the right person at the right time? So you should have a renewal option. And if there’s an expiry date, then we don’t have to suffer for too long.”

The talk show, which premiered with Salman Khan and Aamir Khan as guests, has also featured celebrities like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Janhvi Kapoor, and others. The show is available on Prime Video.
