The day has come for Donald Trump to be inaugurated as President of the United States for the second time.
He will be sworn in as the 47th president inside at the US Capitol Rotunda buildings, due to particularly cold weather today — however a chill in the air has not stopped arrivals dressing up for a momentous occasion.

Guests were led by Trump himself and his wife Melania, who first attended a church service at Washington’s at St. John’s Church. Although Melania is a keen fan of international fashion houses, from Dior to Dolce & Gabbana, today she stuck with FLOTUS tradition and supported American designers by wearing a sophisticated navy blue coat by Adam Lippes as well as matching boater-style hat with a white ribbon by Eric Javits, who is also from the US. Joining them, Trump’s second daughter Ivanka Trump wore a smart green, Dior suit plus pillbox hat.

Current first lady Jill Biden ensured she would not be overshadowed, however, as she posed for photographs with President Joe Biden on the steps of the White House wearing an indigo, wrap-around coat and matching heels. The outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris dressed in all black, offering an altogether more sombre mood – but added a silk grey scarf for added detail.

The wife of incoming Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, Usha Vance, meanwhile opted for a salmon overcoat, slicked back hair, and a statement pair of flower earrings.
Inside the ceremony it was an altogether more motley crew of Republicans, tech bros, wild side burns, lip jobs and the odd YouTuber.

Elon Musk opted for a plain black suit and tie, as did Sam Altman, chief executive officer of OpenAI Inc. who spoke with the frat-boy contingent, boxer Jake Paul and wrestler Logan Paul.
The bouffant blondes were led by an excitable Marjorie Taylor Greene, in Republican red, while Susie Wiles, incoming White House chief, came in a white coat, black scarf plus a phone charger in hand.

Lauren Sanchez, the wife of Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, certainly stepped away from tradition opting for a tight fit white suit plus transparent-lace lingerie style bustier – joining the ranks of Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Tesla and Rupert Murdoch.

As for global leaders, it was wild side-burn culprit Javier Milei, President of Argentina, who stood with the Italian right wing Giorgia Meloni, in a midnight blue velvet suit, that captured attention.
