Back in 1966, a store named Sound of Music first opened its doors. All these years later, that same store—long since renamed “Best Buy”— is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a big sale. And some of the deals can only be found in person.
How long will Best Buy’s “60th Anniversary Sale” last?
Best Buy’s 60th Anniversary Sale will run from Monday, Aug. 17 through Sunday, Aug. 23. The sale will be both in-store and online, with fresh deals on the weekend from Aug. 21-23.
Do you need to be a member to shop Best Buy’s sale?
You don’t need to be any kind of member to shop Best Buy’s 60th Anniversary Sale; however, it is free to sign up for a My Best Buy membership, which will get you free shipping. If you join one of their paid subscriptions (My Best Buy Plus for $49.99 per year or My Best Buy Total for $179.99 per year), you’ll get faster free shipping, exclusive prices and deals, an extended 60-day return window on most products, and early access to select sales. Paid members will also earn extra rewards from both the current sale and the upcoming sales.
What deals can I expect during Best Buy’s 60th Anniversary Sale?
You can find deals on TVs, laptops, headphones, video games, electric bikes, and other tech products like back-to-school deals, headphones, and laptops. On Saturday, Aug. 22, Best Buy will have six in-person exclusive deals, including a deal on gift cards, that will be limited while supplies last.

Best Apple deals
Apple’s premium headphones, the AirPods Max 2, are marked down to $429 (originally $549), the second-lowest price they’ve ever dropped to and the best Bluetooth headphones an Apple user can buy. The biggest upgrades on the AirPods Max 2 are the new “dynamic range” amplifier and Apple’s H2 chip (no longer the H1). But there are many other upgrades that are also worth noting. One of the most exciting features is the addition of Live Translation, which is exactly as it sounds—you can hear real-time translation of what someone is saying in another language right through your headphones.

Best TV deal
The 65-inch Hisense U7SG QLED TV is selling for $899.99, $600 off the original $1,499.99 list price. This discount is especially impressive considering the TV just came out in March 2026. It has 4K resolution, Dolby Vision compatibility (including HDR10+, HDR10, and HDR10+ Adaptive), Dolby Vision IQ support, and full-array local dimming. This TV was originally announced at CES 2024, but a new version came out in March 2026 that includes the Fire TV OS. It’s suitable for gaming, with 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rates, including FreeSync Premium Pro and Dolby Vision gaming.

Best laptop deal
The biggest con in our review of the ASUS Zenbook A14 was its price. Trying to compete with MacBook Airs in design and premium features is cool, but not when it’s pricier. But with its current discount that brings it to $999.99 (originally $1,349.99) for the 16GB RAM and Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, it makes it much more competitive.

Best robot vacuum deal
Robot vacuums have come a long way from the days when Roombas used to be the only reputable brand name. Now companies like Shark are offering robot vacuums like the Matrix Plus for $349.99 (originally $699.99) that can do everything you’d expect from a vacuum and mop robot.

Best earbuds deal
You can get Beats’ Powerbeats Pro 2 for $169.95 (originally $249.99), the lowest they’ve been. These are great workout earbuds, according to Lifehacker senior health editor Beth Skwarecki’s review. The new ear hooks are smaller and are made out of nickel titanium alloy, making them flexible and durable. There are four sizes of eartips so you can get a tight seal to take advantage of the active noise-cancelling (ANC) and audio quality. You can also hear your surroundings with its transparency mode, a critical feature for running outdoors. The media pauses automatically when you take the earbuds out, and it has a heart rate monitor (that underperforms) on each earbud.

Best headphones deal
Beats headphones are well-known for their style and seamless compatibility with Apple devices. Right now, the brand’s flagship headphones, the Beats Studio Pro, are on sale for $169.95 (originally $349.99), the second-lowest price they have been. The Beats Studio Pro came out in 2023; this “good” review from PCMag praised their sculpted sound, comfort, premium accessories, and spatial audio with head tracking for an immersive experience.
