Actress Sana Makbul is embracing a new milestone in her acting journey as she makes her OTT debut with Begum of Crime on Hungama OTT. Known for her versatility and strong screen presence, Sana is now exploring the digital storytelling space with a project that marks a significant step in her evolving career.
Sana talks about her OTT debut
Speaking about entering the OTT world, Sana said the decision came from her desire to constantly challenge herself. “I’ve always believed in taking risks with my career choices. As an actor, it’s important to keep evolving and stepping into spaces that push you creatively. OTT today is such an exciting platform because it allows us to experiment with stories and characters in a way that feels very real.”
She further shared that she was intentional about choosing the right project for this transition. “Your first project in any new space is always special. I wanted my OTT debut to be something that felt meaningful to me as an artist. When I read the script, I felt there was a strong narrative and an opportunity to present myself differently on screen.”
For Sana, the digital debut is not just about a new platform but also about growth. “Every phase of my career has taught me something new. With OTT, I’m looking forward to exploring deeper storytelling and connecting with audiences in a fresh way.”
When Sana opened up about Liver Cirrhosis
Earlier, Sana opened up about her liver cirrhosis. She shared, “I have a liver disease, it was diagnosed in 2020. It has no specific symptoms… in this, my body cells are attacking the organ, so in my case, it’s sometimes Lupus; it hits your kidneys or causes arthritis. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has myositis, which is a muscle condition. I have it with the liver.”
She further revealed, “It`s said that when everything is going well, then something happens. I think with me also that happened when my career was taking off, and I had to take a pause. I was working non stop but I had to take a seat back and focus on my health. I was deteriorating, not physically, but internally. And I think for the last one and a half years I have been doing that. I have been just focusing on me, myself and my health, mentally, emotionally, and physically drained.”
Now on the journey to recovery and already shooting, Sana’s comeback isn’t just professional, it’s personal. It’s about embracing life again, breaking perceptions, and showing that a pause doesn’t mean the end of the story.
With a fresh chapter beginning on-screen, Sana Makbul is all set to inspire with her work and her journey.
