‘Salaar’ by Hombale Films, an Indian production company, has unveiled a teaser for their highly anticipated action extravaganza, “Salaar,” with a staggering budget of $50 million. The film stars Prabhas, renowned for his role in “Baahubali,” and is directed by Prashanth Neel, internationally recognized for his work on the popular “K.G.F.” franchise.
Prabhas, a prominent figure in Telugu cinema, leads a formidable ensemble cast that includes Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, and Shriya Reddy. The movie is being produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, based in Bangalore.
Hombale Films, the same production house behind the groundbreaking success of “K.G.F: Chapter 1” in 2018, which became a hit across India, and “K.G.F: Chapter 2,” the highest-grossing Indian film of the previous year, has high hopes for “Salaar.” The upcoming film is set for release on September 28, 2023, and has been filmed in various locations spanning India, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It will be released in five Indian languages: Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi.
During the Indian shoot, a total of 14 grand sets were constructed at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, the heart of the Telugu film industry. While the storyline remains shrouded in secrecy, the producers have promised an expansive universe that guarantees to captivate and mesmerize audiences. International VFX studios and skilled stuntmen have been enlisted to create top-notch visual effects and breathtaking action sequences.
In a statement, the producers expressed their excitement about Prabhas’ portrayal in “Salaar,” describing him as the rebel star who will unleash his most intense and raw performance yet. They also praised Prashanth Neel for his masterful direction, remarking on the film’s colossal scale, which surpasses the magnitude of their previous venture, “K.G.F. Chapter 2.”
