Acclaimed star Pratik Gandhi, who is making waves at the Toronto International Film Festival for his series Gandhi, has seemingly found a new friend in England, in Harry Potter star Tom Felton. He received a special shoutout from his “first friend in England” on Instagram. In response, Pratik had the sweetest reply saying that he cannot wait to have the English actor in India.

Felton took to Instagram to share three pictures posing with Pratik, Hansal Mehta, Bhamini Oza and Kabir Bedi at the red carpet of the Toronto International Film Festival, where their series Gandhi premiered.

Notably, Felton, who plays the role of Josiah Oldfield in the series, called Pratik his “brother in arms” as he captioned the post, “To my brother in arms pratikgandhiofficial – the cast and crew that made this happen – what an honour it was to premiere ‘Gandhi’ at tiff_net to a standing ovation this weekend – hansalmehta gandhi”

Pratik responded to Tom`s sweet shoutout in the comment section, saying, “Cheers to my first friend in England, the innocent, emotional and funny t22felton. Can’t wait to have you in India.”
About Gandhi
Gandhi is about the life of Mahatma Gandhi, based on the books Gandhi Before India and Gandhi: The Years That Changed the World penned by Ramachandra Guha. The series is planned to span three seasons. The filming for the first season, set between 1888 to 1915, was completed in August 2024. The first season follows Gandhi’s early life, starting in colonial India as a curious teenager, then as a shy law student in London, and finally as a young lawyer who spends 23 life-changing years in South Africa.

Meanwhile, Tom Felton began appearing in commercials and made his screen debut in the role of Peagreen Clock in The Borrowers. He portrayed Louis T. Leonowens in Anna and the King before being cast as Draco Malfoy in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter fantasy novels by J. K. Rowling, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher`s Stone and finishing with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Felton appeared in the sci-fi film Rise of Planet of the Apes. He was subsequently cast in indie films From the Rough and The Apparition.
