Neeraj Chopra created a historic moment in Indian athletics by seizing the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw event at the World Athletics Championships hosted in Budapest, Hungary. This achievement marked a groundbreaking milestone as he became the first-ever Indian athlete to claim the top position in this prestigious championship.

The unforgettable scene unfolded in the early hours of August 28 when Neeraj competed against a global array of opponents. With impressive skill, he achieved a remarkable throw of 88.17 meters during his second attempt, solidifying his supremacy throughout the competition.

This extraordinary accomplishment not only secured Neeraj the coveted gold medal but also established him as a pioneering force for Indian sports on the international stage.

Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, another strong contender, closely followed Neeraj’s achievement with a silver medal. Nadeem, previously acclaimed in the Commonwealth Games, achieved a commendable throw of 87.82 meters.

The third spot on the victory podium was secured by Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic, who showcased his skill with an impressive throw of 86.67 meters.
