After Pooran’s dismissal, West Indies still needed 24 runs to win, with only two wickets remaining and four overs left in the game.
However, Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph showed great resilience and composure under pressure, putting on an unbroken 26-run partnership to guide West Indies to victory. Hosein remained not out on 16 runs, while Joseph scored 10 runs.
Hardik Pandya was the most successful bowler for India, picking up three wickets for 35 runs in his four overs.
The win helped West Indies take a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series against India.
