In addition, interested customers can also book the Harley-Davidson X440 at all Harley-Davidson dealerships and select Hero MotoCorp outlets across the country.
The Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson collaboration resulted in the fully indigenized 440cc motorcycle, the Harley-Davidson X440, which was launched on July 3. The motorcycle is available in three variants: Denim, Vivid, and S, with introductory prices of Rs 2.29 lakh, Rs 2.49 lakh, and Rs 2.69 lakh, respectively.
Deliveries of the Harley-Davidson X440 will begin from October 2023.
The X440 is powered by a newly-developed 440cc single-cylinder engine, featuring air and oil cooling, with a redline at 8,000 rpm.
The motorcycle showcases a modern-retro design inspired by the Harley-Davidson XR1200, including features like a circular LED headlamp, flat handlebar, round fully digital instrument cluster, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and more.
This launch marks Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson’s entry into the 440cc segment in India. The motorcycles will be manufactured at Hero MotoCorp’s Neemrana facility in Rajasthan.
By introducing the X440, Hero MotoCorp aims to establish a strong presence in the premium segment over the next two years.
Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, emphasized the significant role played by Harley-Davidson in the company’s premium strategy. While the company has already launched successful products, collaborating with Harley-Davidson provides valuable learning opportunities for the development of large-sized engines.
Regarding exports of the X440, the focus currently remains on the domestic market.
