The best celebs on Paris Fashion Week front row 2024: From Blackpink to Kate Moss

Chloé’s show was feted by a host of stars including White Lotus’ Meghann Fahy alongside Brits such as Amy Winehouse actress Marisa Abela and fashion favourite Alexa Chung. But it was Miller, making her first public outing since giving birth two months ago, who turned most heads. Georgia May Jagger and Jerry Hall also had a sweet mother-daughter moment. Source link

Inside this week’s ES Magazine: Enter the wonderful world of Juergen Teller

If by some catastrophic cultural blind spot you don’t know his name (seriously?), you will know the work of Juergen Teller. Since the early Nineties, he has been up-ending the worlds of fashion and art with his up-yours style of irreverent, point-and-shoot photography: Kate Moss in bed, Kate Moss in a wheelbarrow, a dead frozen dog in a bin, Victoria Beckham in a giant Marc Jacobs bag, naked Vivienne Westwood, naked Charlotte Rampling with naked Juergen... lots of naked Juergen. Dove launches its #TheFaceof10 campaign

“Today, girls are exposed to adult skincare content online and pressures to look a certain way at a very young age, to the extent that they’re adding products designed for adults to their wish lists and skincare regimens, without understanding the possible consequences for their physical and mental health. All of this contributes to a toxic culture of unrealistic beauty standards and pressures,” explains Dr Phillippa Diedrichs, PhD, Professor of Psychology and leading body image expert on Dove’s disturbing findings. Dior takes Paris Fashion Week — Maria Grazia Chiuri swings back in time for a modish renaissance

On her mood board was a picture of Bohan with his young daughter, as well as Gabriella Crispi, the Italian interior designer with whom Bohan collaborated with for the new Miss Dior stores. Akin to Biba, these featured objet and furniture items designed by Crispi, poignantly labelled “Made in Italy for Christian Dior” (fittingly, Chiuri is Italian). Crispi’s “moon” lamp which was sold at Dior was the inspiration for the C D logo created by Bohan, who saw the letters in her design. Chiuri explained that Crispi was typical of the new generation of artistic, forward thinking women with which Bohan surrounded himself with.  Source link

Milan Fashion Week: the 6 Key trends you’ll want to wear next winter

The answer seemed to be throw as many coats at them as possible — khaki, head-to-toe black, varsity jackets and Balenciaga-style cocoons were everywhere. Shoes were covered in fluff, perhaps all the better to take that idea of a soft landing — and offered a quirky edge to pieces steeped in conservative classic codes. Shirts in any colour but white were also abundant; legs were either totally exposed or moderately covered up. No middle ground here. Meanwhile, for all you mob-wife aficionados, fear not, puffs of (faux) fur and fluff were generously feathered across everything. Skirts came lengthy with cool kick-hems, while dresses were neat shifts. John Galliano’s antisemitic tirade should never be forgotten but it is time to forgive

Galliano has seemingly never adjusted his eye. A long-fêted wunderkind, the then creative director of Dior, his life in the bubble was indelibly punctured by his appalling behaviour over a few fateful nights at Le Pearl, a bar in the Marais, where his addled antisemitic abuse included saying he loved Hitler, and that the two women’s (who were not Jewish) forefathers would be gassed. It’s reassuring, given the current state of antisemitism, that his words cut with as much horror as they did when the video first went viral in 2011.  Source link

Life Coach: how to be happy for your ex

Finally, forget being ‘genuinely happy’ for them and focus on yourself. Your peace and contentment is the priority. You can’t control other people, but you can take action on your own life. Be proactive, stick to or take up good habits, plan a trip or dinner with friends, do something kind for a stranger, read a motivating book, learn something new, focus on feeling grateful (though trite, gratitude is one of the biggest proven mood boosters). You can get over this. Turn your energy inward, the rest will follow. Source link

Your week in chic: From Naomi Campbell’s germ-free fashion collection to the return of Clarks

Adding a soupçon of bright red to your look is this season’s easiest way to appear au courant. Emma Stone and Hailey Bieber have both been spotted throwing in a dash of red punctuation (in a shoe, or bag) to otherwise pared back looks. Happily, cashmere aficionado Lisa Yang has popped a few deliciously tomato pieces into her anniversary collection marking 10 years of business. ‘No one has a better understanding of the craft of cashmere production than our producers in Inner Mongolia — they are like part of the family,’ says Yang of how she’s developed her label from her Stockholm atelier, adding, ‘I have learnt so much about how far you can push the boundaries of cashmere design.’ You’ll find reissues of her covetably soft knits and trousers, as well as the highly tempting roll-neck Holly ...

Honda CRF300 Rally – good enough to ride around the world

Now we’ve tried the Rally version, with its uprated headlamp, nice, protective, tall screen and improved wind protection for the rider. It also has a larger, more powerful front brake than the L, as well as handlebar-end weights and removable rubber footpeg inserts to cut vibration. Overall the Rally is around 9 kgs heavier than the L, although much of this is accounted for by the extra fuel. It’s still, of course, lightweight. I had little trouble wheeling it around like a (slightly heavy) bicycle, into a tight parking space on a slope. Source link
