The only thing I didn’t really like about The Magical Girl and Evil Lieutenant was the style of story-telling. It’s only the first episode, so it’s hard to determine if this will be the way the entire show plays out, but I thought the mini-stories making up one episode were a little rough. If done right, little mini-stories can be fun. However, I think there was a lot of story skipped over in the first episode, like more of Byakuya’s background, or the build-up of the romance between her and Shun. Source link

Since Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine is simultaneously a Deadpool sequel, the first Deadpool movie in the MCU, and the first R-rated MCU movie in general, it has a lot of box office draw. That draw only intensified when Hugh Jackman was revealed to be returning as Wolverine early on in the marketing campaign, eventually making his way onto the title card. There’s also the fact that the movie looks like it’ll have massive implications for the storyline of the MCU going forward, so there’s probably going to be quite a few kids secretly catching the movie just to be caught up. There is potential that the teams attached to the shows have also weighed in about where they want the show to be featured. A few years ago, Scarlett Johansson got into a legal battle with Disney over a guarantee she had that the Black Widow movie would have a period of exclusivity in theaters but then Disney put it on Disney+ for streaming at the same time. Having violated their agreement, Johansson successfully sued Disney. The minds behind the shows that HBO has moved from exclusively being on Max might have had similar preferences. Regardless, with Max now losing exclusivity for so many of the big-name shows it had coming out, it will be curious to see what use HBO sees in Max for the long haul. Source link
