By Doug Norrie | Published 18 seconds ago The Office is one of the greatest comedies we’ve ever seen, running for nine seasons and producing some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Steve Carell as Michael Scott Steve Carell played the character of Michael Scott to perfection, though there’s no denying his appearance changed quite a bit from the first season to the next. Steve Carell left The Office before the series was over but has gone on to have a celebrated career in Hollywood. He’s one of the best ever to do it. 13 school kids fall sick after eating mushrooms cooked at ICDS centre in Bengal

As many as 13 school kids fell sick at a village in West Bengal`s Bankura district after consuming mushrooms which they cooked at an Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) centre.  They were first taken to the Raipur Rural Hospital with symptoms of food poisoning like vomiting and severe stomach ache. However, after the condition of some of them deteriorated, they were shifted to the Bankura Sammilani Medical Colleg; Hospital where their condition has improved, sources said. It is learned that the mushrooms they ate were collected from a local field and taking advantage of the staff at the ICDS kitchen, the kids themselves cooked and consumed them. Doctors suspect that the kids picked up infected mushrooms, which resulted in food poisoning. The parents of the kids, however, have co...

Battlestar Galactica Retconned Its Best Relationship

The depth of the relationship between Adama and Starbuck is deepened when she kicks Colonel Tigh’s butt at space poker, resulting in the drunken executive officer knocking the table over before getting punched by Starbuck. Later, a protective Adama makes sure Tigh won’t file charges against Starbuck for striking a superior officer. We later get some context for their father/daughter relationship (which is how it’s described in the original miniseries script, by the way): Starbuck was engaged to Adama’s son Zak before the younger man died in a flying accident, leaving the Commander without one of his sons, though Starbuck tries to fill that emotional gap. The Sadness is a Taiwanese movie which was written, directed, and even edited by Canadian filmmaker Rob Jabbaz. At this time, the movie is Jabbaz’s only feature film in his catalogue, though fans of The Sadness are surely awaiting his next project with nervous excitement. Before crafting this psychological deep dive into the post-COVID world, Jabbaz primarily worked on self-taught animations, helming such short films as Fiendish Funnies, Great Daena: A Fateful Encounter, and Clearwater. 2000s Hit Comedy With Billion-Dollar Star Is Being Hidden From Fans

The film is certainly not Shakespeare, but if you’re looking for an upbeat, mostly family-friendly movie to throw on and chuckle at, I think Mr Deeds holds up a lot better than many of Adam Sandler‘s other early career films. The movie has a ton of heart, a solid moral foundation, and some truly hilarious gags, such as Deeds’ obsidian black frostbitten foot, which is hardened to the point that he can use it as a blunt object. Unfortunately, the film is currently not streaming anywhere, leaving fans of Mr Deeds to rely on their old DVD copies, if they can manage to find them. Source link

The Original Twister Wasn’t A Disaster Movie

Okay, now that I’m thinking about it, Twister is definitely a disaster movie, but it’s not like other disaster movies. Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt are absolute quip machines, and their banter is what truly seals the deal for me. Their crew, featuring the likes of Alan Ruck, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jake Busey, and Joey Slotnick, all of which who have excellent comedic timing, makes for a great romantic comedy. As Bill and Jo sort out their personal issues, the whole crew is rooting for them to not only get Dorothy to fly, but also hug and kiss and make up. Melissa, who I need to remind you is a wonderful woman, can go kick rocks because this movie is about Bill, Jo, and their undying love for each other. Source link

Pumpkin is a low-brow attempt at dark satire but falls short of the mark in many places. The movie succeeds in creating a stuffy, snobby atmosphere and filling the storyline with some of the shallowest characters imaginable, but only does so by exhausting old college film tropes that have been done to death. The critics of its time seemed to admire the premise of the production but felt that the tongue-in-cheek plot devices were too zany and worked to totally offset the satirical message the film was trying to convey. Ricci does well in her role as Carolyn, playing the naive and one-dimensional college girl whose eyes are opened by her new relationship. Pumpkin‘s one saving grace is the Addams Family actress’s performance, and the movie remains one of her most underrated roles. You can str...
