The Stand miniseries features an all-star cast that includes Gary Sinise, Miguel Ferrer, Rob Lowe, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Jamey Sheridan, Laura San Giacomo, Molly Ringwald, Corin Nemec, Adam Storke, Ray Walston, Ed Harris, and Matt Frewer. Stephen King himself even has a minor role in the series. The series also has great reviews if you’ve never seen it before, with the Rotten Tomatoes critic score at 70 percent and the audience score at 71 percent. Now, an array of details about the adaptation have been revealed in a live stream on X, including where you’ll be able to watch the new adaptation if you live in the US. Outside of Japan, Netflix has nabbed the exclusive streaming rights to the series, which will hit the streamer after the episodes broadcast. Only the addition of Disney+ can boost the cumulative viewership percentages of the subscription services beyond that of Pluto  TV, Roku, and Tubi, but not by much. Adding the 1 percent audience share for Disney+ to the other three premium streamers pushes the cumulative total to 4.7 percent for those streaming services. The average audience size for the three FAST stations still wins with an average of 1.43 percent versus an average of 1.18 percent for the four premium streaming channels. By now, the movie should have been well into post-production, but then, the actors and writers strike happened, and it affected not only The Old Guard 2 but the majority of Hollywood releases. The live-action adaptation of Sweet Home isn’t a perfect adaptation. However, this was done on purpose for a couple of reasons. The biggest reason is that the original authors said that they didn’t want the TV series to perfectly follow his work. One author, Kim, did admit that he was a little worried. He didn’t necessarily doubt the director, Lee Eung-bok (Mr. Sunshine), but the ability of Korea to handle the unique genre. According to Kim, this was the first monster genre drama to be made in Korea, and he wasn’t sure if the director could grasp it.  Source link

One of the books in question is The Final Diagnosis by Arthur Hailey, a 1959 dramatic tale about a beleaguered doctor who has to make one hard decision after another while working in a crowded hospital (we can only assume Dr. Cottle would have loved this). Inarguably, though, the most fascinating text is one that we can’t make out the title of. In this Battlestar Galactica episode, one of the books is adorned with swastikas and what seems to be the face of Adolf Hilter on the cover. Now, the smart money is that the Battlestar Galactica producers simply threw some random books on the shelf for this episode and that nobody counted on anyone noticing Hitler’s face on what is likely just a history book. A Nightmare on Elm Street was the first step towards Craven addressing the problem Swamp Thing and his daughter had brought to his attention. Nancy Thompson, played by Heather Langenkamp, was competent, smart, and proactive rather than incompetent and defenseless. While a few other heroines, like Ellen Ripley from Alien, had displayed similar features, they were exceptions to the rule and rarely the types of young women common in the slasher genre. Nancy still had many of the final girl tropes from older movies like Swamp Thing, but she also subverted the trope meaningfully. According to the showrunner, “Space” was a story that “took a lot of research on my part,” and while we hate to call Carter out, that seems hard to believe when the whole thing was based on an easily debunked conspiracy. However, considering how much Agent Mulder is based on X-Files creator Chris Carter, it’s only fitting that the show’s worst Season 1 episode was based on earnest belief in a crazy conspiracy.
