Netflix Lands Exclusive Streaming Rights To Hottest 90s Anime Remake Of The Year

By Douglas Helm | Published 12 seconds ago Rumiko Takahashi, author of the Ranma ½ manga, previously revealed a couple of weeks ago that her seminal manga series was getting a new anime adaptation. Now, an array of details about the adaptation have been revealed in a live stream on X, including where you’ll be able to watch the new adaptation if you live in the US. Outside of Japan, Netflix has nabbed the exclusive streaming rights to the series, which will hit the streamer after the episodes broadcast. The news that Ranma ½ would be streaming on Netflix also coincided with a trailer drop that shows off the brand-new animation, which looks pretty great. We also learned that the anime series is set to premiere on October 5, so we won’t have too long to wait. The live stream revealed th...

Tubi And Pluto TV Are Beating Disney+ And Other Premium Streaming Services

Only the addition of Disney+ can boost the cumulative viewership percentages of the subscription services beyond that of Pluto  TV, Roku, and Tubi, but not by much. Adding the 1 percent audience share for Disney+ to the other three premium streamers pushes the cumulative total to 4.7 percent for those streaming services. The average audience size for the three FAST stations still wins with an average of 1.43 percent versus an average of 1.18 percent for the four premium streaming channels. Many premium streaming channels have walled off their content, making them less available to industry leaders like Netflix. The demand for content focused solely on titles produced by a particular studio, like MGM, HBO, or Netflix, isn’t as strong as the premium subscription-based services initially anti...

Panchayat actor Durgesh Kumar on working in soft p*rn: ‘It`s a lie that…`

Actor Durgesh Kumar gained immense fame after working in the Jitendra Kumar starrer Panchayat. This series treated him as a lead actor and not just a supporting character. Now, in a conversation with midday.com, Durgesh opened up about his journey in Panchayat, his decision to work in a B-grade film, his perspective about OTT platforms, and more. The actor started the conversation by talking about his journey and how he landed the role of Bhushan. He shared, “There is an assistant director named Navneet Ranga. He called me and said, ‘Dada, there is a web series in which there is an audition for the photographer of Fakoli. There is one scene.’ So, I went and gave the audition for the photographer of Fakoli, which was later done by the writer of Aspirant. At that time, he called me and said...

The X-Files Episode Nearly Shut Down By College Students

Fortunately, Pittson’s time working on The X-Files had given him a good sense of humor, and he ended up finding the “Fallen Angel” production difficulties quite ironic. As he later said of these difficulties, they made Deep Throat’s advice “Keep your friends close, your enemies closer” downright “prophetic.” After all, once a TV production crew set up in a very crowded campus in the middle of the semester, nobody had any choice but to keep friends, enemies, and everyone in between very close. Charlize Theron Reveals Netflix Shut Down Superhero Sequel But It’s Not Lost

Namely, the sequel to Charlize Theron’s Netflix hit was then delayed due to the restructuring at Netflix, with the streamer signing various creative partnerships, buying numerous studios, and opening various offices, including one in Poland. By now, the movie should have been well into post-production, but then, the actors and writers strike happened, and it affected not only The Old Guard 2 but the majority of Hollywood releases. Despite all that, Charlize Theron shared that the movie is going to be released at some point now that the production has picked up.   Source link

The Netflix Horror Series Adaptation That Is Perfect

The live-action adaptation of Sweet Home isn’t a perfect adaptation. However, this was done on purpose for a couple of reasons. The biggest reason is that the original authors said that they didn’t want the TV series to perfectly follow his work. One author, Kim, did admit that he was a little worried. He didn’t necessarily doubt the director, Lee Eung-bok (Mr. Sunshine), but the ability of Korea to handle the unique genre. According to Kim, this was the first monster genre drama to be made in Korea, and he wasn’t sure if the director could grasp it.  Source link

Battlestar Galactica Hides History’s Greatest Villain In Plain Sight

One of the books in question is The Final Diagnosis by Arthur Hailey, a 1959 dramatic tale about a beleaguered doctor who has to make one hard decision after another while working in a crowded hospital (we can only assume Dr. Cottle would have loved this). Inarguably, though, the most fascinating text is one that we can’t make out the title of. In this Battlestar Galactica episode, one of the books is adorned with swastikas and what seems to be the face of Adolf Hilter on the cover. Now, the smart money is that the Battlestar Galactica producers simply threw some random books on the shelf for this episode and that nobody counted on anyone noticing Hitler’s face on what is likely just a history book. During the next episode, the shelf gets knocked over, and we get a better look at the odds ...

Nightmare On Elm Street Changed Because Of A Little Girl And Swamp Thing

A Nightmare on Elm Street was the first step towards Craven addressing the problem Swamp Thing and his daughter had brought to his attention. Nancy Thompson, played by Heather Langenkamp, was competent, smart, and proactive rather than incompetent and defenseless. While a few other heroines, like Ellen Ripley from Alien, had displayed similar features, they were exceptions to the rule and rarely the types of young women common in the slasher genre. Nancy still had many of the final girl tropes from older movies like Swamp Thing, but she also subverted the trope meaningfully. In A Nightmare on Elm Street, Nancy is a young, beautiful, attractive white woman who isn’t depicted engaging in casual sex or drug use, all the standard final girl qualities. However, they aren’t why she survives, she...

The X-Files Worst Episode Inspired By Fake News

According to the showrunner, “Space” was a story that “took a lot of research on my part,” and while we hate to call Carter out, that seems hard to believe when the whole thing was based on an easily debunked conspiracy. However, considering how much Agent Mulder is based on X-Files creator Chris Carter, it’s only fitting that the show’s worst Season 1 episode was based on earnest belief in a crazy conspiracy. Like Mulder, Carter is primarily guilty of one thing: he wants to believe. Source link
