Dark chocolate, berries may help boost memory and relieve stress: Study

Struggling with memory and stress issues? A bite of dark chocolate or a handful of berries may help boost your memory levels and also cut down stress, according to an animal study.   The improved memory and cognition may be due to flavanols, found abundantly in cocoa and berries, said the team from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan. The study, published in the journal Current Research in Food Science, demonstrated that flavanol intake can trigger wide-ranging physiological responses resembling those induced by exercise -- functioning as a moderate stressor that activates the central nervous system and enhances attention, arousal, and memory. Flavanols also protect against neuronal damage. “Stress responses elicited by flavanols in this study are similar to those elicited by physic...

Sameer Wankhede calls The Ba***ds of Bollywood `vendetta,` alleges defamation

Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and former NCB Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Dnyandev Wankhede has filed a rejoinder before the Delhi High Court, accusing Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt. Wankhede contended that the web series is not a work of fiction but a "personal vendetta disguised as satire", orchestrated to malign his reputation following the 2021 Cordelia Cruise drug case involving Shah Rukh Khan`s son, Aryan Khan. In the rejoinder, Wankhede alleged that the character of a government officer depicted in the series was deliberately modelled on him, citing striking resemblances in appearance, speech, and...

You can get it for $529.99 (originally $1,299.99), the lowest price it has ever been, and a great price point to get an OLED TV, most of which easily start in the $1,000s. If you can spend a bit more, the Samsung 65" Class S84F OLED is $949.99 (originally $1999.99)—that's a mi...

‘I did apologize to the President,’ Carney says on U.S. anti-tariff ad – National

Prime Minister Mark Carney says he apologized to United States President Donald Trump after an Ontario anti-tariff ad aired in the U.S. last week. Carney made the comments Saturday from South Korea at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit when asked by reporters whether an apology was made.“I did apologize to the president. The president was offended by the ad, and it’s not something I would have done, which is to put in place that advertisement, and so I apologized to him,” Carney said.“I’m the one who is responsible, in my role as prime minister for the relationship with the President of the United States, and the federal government is responsible for the foreign relationship with the U.S. government. Every agriculture worker with chronic kidney disease has it due to unknown cause

One in every 20 agricultural workers in Tamil Nadu could be having chronic kidney disease (CKD), with every other affected individual possibly having CKDu (chronic kidney disease with an unknown cause) -- a type known to affect mainly agricultural workers, a study published in The Lancet Regional Health Southeast Asia journal has estimated. Researchers, including those from Madras Medical College, said CKDu -- linked to heat stress due to working outdoors and exposure to agricultural chemicals and environmental toxins -- has been reported in "hotspots" around the world, including India, Sri Lanka and Central America...
