Donald Trump’s victory will send shock waves around the world.

The meeting coincided with Zelensky's visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly. Photo: AFP / Ukrainian Presidential Press Service Analysis - With Donald Trump set to return to the White House, the international outlook is in for a major shake-up. Perhaps even a wild ride. The most dramatic change would be regarding the war in Ukraine. The only way that Ukraine has been able to hold off Russia's push towards Kyiv has been due to the huge financial support of NATO. While Ukraine is not a member of NATO, the support of this alliance has allowed it to match a much larger and better-resourced army. The US is the biggest funder of NA...

India’s B2B2C mental health market likely to reach $3.9 billion by FY29

Driven by the rise in digital adoption, the enterprise-driven business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) mental health market in India is projected to reach approximately $3.9 billion by FY29, with demand expected to grow 1.7 times in the coming years, according to a new report.  Corporate and educational segments are leading this shift, recognising the critical role of mental health in productivity and educational success, according to the report from market research firm Redseer. “Currently, over 200 million people in India face mental health conditions, yet only 10-15 per cent seek professional help. The gap highlights the need for scalable, accessible solutions — a need that is being met with innovative, digital-first approaches,” said Jasbir Juneja from Redseer. To address the wide-r...

Trump win could see migrant influx, ‘negative’ impact on Quebec economy: Legault

Quebec will closely monitor the potential impacts a new Donald Trump presidency will have on immigration and the economy, with the premier warning the province “risks experiencing turbulence” in the coming months. François Legault was addressing Wednesday the outcome of Trump clinching the United States presidential election in a political comeback that saw him defeat Kamala Harris. It will be Trump’s second, non-consecutive term at the helm of American leadership and, as a result, Legault says he will implement a “working group” composed of several cabinet ministers to defend Quebec’s interests.“Americans voted yesterday and Mr. Trump won,” Legault said at the provincial legislature. “And we have to respect that result.”But Legault was quick to lay out his concerns about Trump’s victory, w...

Benjamin Mendy tells Manchester City ‘do the honourable thing’ after club ordered to pay him £8.5m | UK News

Footballer Benjamin Mendy says he is "delighted" after a judge ordered Manchester City to pay him around £8.5m - as he called on the club to "do the honourable thing".Mendy took the Premier League champions to an employment tribunal, claiming they had wrongly stopped his £500,000-a-month salary after he was charged with sex offences and remanded into custody in August 2021. The 30-year-old was subsequently cleared of all charges.Tribunal Judge Joanne Dunlop ruled on Wednesday that Mendy should be entitled to the majority of his £11m claim for unauthorised deductions from his wages by the club. His claim covered a 22-month period, five of which were when he was in custody for breaching bail conditions and therefore not entitled to pay, the judge ruled. This leaves him with around £8.5m owed,...

US elections: Six reasons why Kamala Harris was always on track to lose to Donald Trump

By Leigh Sales*, ABC The challenges for the Democratic Party have been clear from the day Kamala Harris became the nominee. Photo: ANDREW CABALLERO-REYNOLDS Analysis - It is truly extraordinary the Democrats have convincingly lost a presidential election against one of the most discredited figures in modern American political history - a convicted felon, no less. And yet, the challenges for the Democratic Party, and the campaign's obvious mistakes and missteps, have been clear from the day Kamala Harris became the nominee. There is little that's surprising about Donald Trump's victory beyond the obvious shock that a candidate so vulgar and base - last week, he pretended to fellate a microphone, just the latest pitiful example in a long line - is not unelectable. Here are six obvious ...

How Donald Trump’s presidential win may impact his legal cases – National

Donald Trump’s U.S. presidential election victory on Wednesday will essentially end the criminal cases brought against him, at least for the four years he occupies the White House. The first former U.S. president to face criminal charges, Trump for much of this year faced four simultaneous prosecutions, over allegations ranging from his attempt to cover up a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 campaign to his attempts to overturn his 2020 election defeat. A New York jury in May found him guilty of falsifying business records tied to the Daniels payment, making him the first former U.S. president convicted of a felony.Trump, a Republican, told an interviewer on Oct. 24 that he would fire U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith — who led the federal prosecutions over his a...
