Ankur Rathee on playing Haryanvi cop in Reeta Sanyal

Surviving the entertainment industry is no easy feat. However, for Indian-born American actor Ankur Rathee, his three shows on Prime Video—Four More Shots Please, Made in Heaven, and Inside Edge—helped pave a path. While he hasn’t been able to use his education in dance school yet, Rathee believes that one day he will do the song and dance routine. “I started [my career] with musical theatre, which was my introduction to proper acting. Though Bollywood has migrated from that, I’m grateful for the opportunities that came my way,” shares the actor, who was once a finalist on Dance India Dance. Currently, Rathee is basking in the positive reaction to his performance in Reeta Sanyal. The Disney+ Hotstar series has him play a Haryanvi cop in the Adah Sharma-starrer. Middle East conflict: Thousands visit shrine for killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah | World News

The crowds came, weeping in the dark, to a bombsite and a shrine. The crater was huge, with twisted rods of steel and mounds of earth and rubble on its side. This is where Hassan Nasrallah, the former leader of Hezbollah was killed, in a massive Israeli airstrike, on 27 September. Those dirt mounds were covered in small candles, the surrounding buildings were lit in red and, at the bottom of the pit, a white cube beamed spotlights straight up into the sky,Hezbollah called Nasrallah their "soul and heart". Western governments called him a terrorist and celebrated his death. The crowds here, in their thousands, chanted his name, again and again. Manawanui sinking: ‘We’re humans and those things happen’, Samoan official says

It is understandable that human errors - like the one that led to the sinking of the HMNZS Manawanui - happen, a Samoan official involved in the recovery and clean-up says. An interim report released on Friday found that the grounding of the New Zealand Navy ship in early October was due to a series of human errors, including the crew not turning off the ship's autopilot when they should have. Afioga Fui Tupai Mau Simanu, who is the chair of Samoa's Marine Pollution Advisory Committee, said he had been briefed about the interim report by the New Zealand Defence Force's representative in Samoa, Commodore Andrew Brown. "We're humans and those things happen," he said of the interim findings. "We just appreciate the fact that the New Zealand government continues to be transparent and is upfron...

International Court of Justice to begin hearings in landmark climate change case started by Pacific Islander students

By Doug Dingwall Pacific Islanders have led the campaign for the ICJ to consider states' obligations to prevent climate change. Photo: ABC News: Doug Dingwall The International Court of Justice is set to begin two weeks of hearings on Monday in a landmark case on the obligations of states to protect the climate from greenhouse gases. The idea for the case came from a group of students studying law at a university in Vanuatu. Experts say the court's findings could bolster the cases of nations taking legal action against big polluters failing to reduce emissions. A landmark case that began in a Pacific classroom and could change the course of future climate talks is about to be heard in the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The court will begin hearings involving a record numb...
