Is Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rebrand doomed to fail amid visa and rebrand issues?

“Last year, I had thought, ‘American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name.’ It’s my neighbourhood; it’s a nickname for Santa Barbara,” explained Meghan in a video she posted on Instagram this week. “But it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area,” she continued, glossing over the fact that the trademark application for the brand was rejected due to the fact that common names for geographic locations cannot be trademarked. Trump wants to replace Canada’s car industry. How much would that cost? – National

If there’s one sector in the Canadian economy that has faced the particular focus of U.S. President Donald Trump‘s tariff threats, it’s Canada’s auto industry. Trump has said that he wants to “make the cars in Detroit,” indicating that he wants to replace Canada’s industry with a fully domestic American car industry. But experts say it could end up costing the U.S. tens of billions of dollars and in the end, the squeeze might not be worth the juice.åIn an interview with Fox News earlier this month, Trump said Canada “stole” the automobile industry from the United States.“If you look at Canada, Canada has a very big car industry. They stole it from us. They stole it because our people were asleep at the wheel,” Trump said.He added, “If we don’t make a deal with Canada, we’re going to put a b...

New bat coronavirus with human transmission potential discovered in China

A team of Chinese virologists has identified a new bat coronavirus, HKU5-CoV-2, that could potentially infect humans. Led by Shi Zhengli, a renowned scientist known as "Batwoman" for her extensive research on coronaviruses, the discovery raises concerns about the possibility of another zoonotic spillover.  According to the South China Morning Post, researchers found that HKU5-CoV-2 can bind to human ACE2 receptors, the same entryway used by SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19. This similarity suggests a potential risk of human transmission, though further research is needed to determine its real-world impact. HKU5-CoV-2 belongs to the merbecovirus subgenus, which includes the MERS-CoV virus that caused the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome outbreak. The study, cited by Newswe...
