Chitrangda Singh opens up about signing Raat Akeli Hai The Bansal Murders

Chitrangda Singh doesn’t pick projects for noise. She picks them for the feeling they leave behind. And that’s exactly why Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders became an immediate yes. With Raat Akeli Hai 2, she saw a role that isn’t loud, but potent. A story that lingers. And an emotional world she couldn’t resist stepping into Chitrangada Singh opens up about signing Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders “I’m drawn to stories that leave a trace on you long after you’ve walked away. Raat Akeli Hai 2 had that quiet tension and emotional weight that I find irresistible. The character lives in these grey, unsettling spaces, and exploring that was both challenging and deeply fulfilling. It’s the kind of part that changes you a little, and those are the roles I say yes to,” Chitrangda says. For...

How to Spot a Browser-in-the-Browser Phishing Attack

Between the sheer number and the increasing sophistication of phishing campaigns, seeing should not automatically be believing when browsing online. One particularly sneaky scam is a browser-in-the-browser (BitB) attack, in which threat actors create a fake browser window that looks like a trusted single sign-on (SSO) login page within a real browser session. Because we use SSO to access many of our online accounts, we may not think twice before entering usernames and passwords on these spoofed pages. Cybercriminals are counting on this to steal user credentials. How a browser-in-the-browser attack worksRather than redirecting users to a spoofed website, threat actors running a BitB attack create a fake pop-up within the page you're already on (which may either be set up for the attack or c...

Study finds lifestyle changes can halve heart disease risk in prediabetics

Bringing blood glucose to normal range through lifestyle changes could halve the risk of heart attack, heart failure and premature death among prediabetics, according to a study. Findings published in `The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology` journal show that remission of prediabetes -- achieving normal blood glucose levels -- may establish a new, measurable target for clinical guidelines, according to researchers. A fasting blood glucose value of under 97 milligrams per decilitre proved to be a simple marker for a persistently lower risk of heart disease, regardless of age, weight, or ethnic background, the researchers said. This threshold could be applied in primary care practices worldwide, making prevention more tangible, they added. "Our results suggest that remission of prediabete...

How to Make a Wood Floor Less Slippery

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Recently, a few spots on the hardwood floors in my house have become mysteriously slippery—so slippery that they're kind of dangerous. I really feel like my feet might go out from under me when I walk there, and there were a few close calls before I started avoiding them (or at least bracing myself to walk over them more carefully). This is no way to live, so I started looking into solutions, starting with the root cause. Why your wood floors are suddenly slipperyTurns out it’s not uncommon for hardwood floors to become spontaneously slippery, and it can happen for a variety of reasons. Wax or polish: If you apply any kind of coating to give your floor extra shine, it can build up over time and turn the floor into an ic...

AIIMS Study: School children are picking up picking up drugs, smoking at 13

School-going children are picking up drug and smoking habits and engaging in consumption of alcohol, with the average age of introduction to such harmful substances found to be around 13 years, suggesting a need for earlier interventions as early as primary school, a multi-city survey by AIIMS-Delhi said. The findings also showed substance use increased in higher grades, with grade XI/XII students two times more likely to report use of substances when compared with grade VIII students. This emphasised the importance of continued prevention and intervention through middle and high school. The study led by Dr Anju Dhawan of AIIMS`s National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre, published in the National Medical Journal of India this month, looks at adolescent substance use across diverse regio...
