All the Biggest News and Features Announced During Google I/O 2025

It should have been obvious that Google I/O 2025 would be jammed-packed, considering the company felt the need to hold a separate event to cover all of its Android news. But color me shocked that Google pulled off a nearly two hour-long presentation, full of announcements and reveals, mostly about AI. Not all AI announcements are equal, of course. Some of the news was geared towards enterprise users, and some towards developers. But many of the features discussed are on their way to consumers' devices too, some as soon as today. These are the updates I'm going to focus on here—you can expect to try out these features today, in the coming weeks, or at some point in the near future.Gemini Live is coming to the iPhoneEarlier this year, Google rolled out Gemini Live for all Android users vi...

Trump’s tariffs creating ‘tensions’ among G7 ahead of summit: Champagne

The growing impact of U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs is creating “tensions” among members of the G7 heading into a critical summit in Canada next month, the federal finance minister says. Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne and Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem are chairing three days of meetings with top finance officials from the world’s largest economies in Banff, Alta., this week. The talks are expected to focus on the war in Ukraine and artificial intelligence, and how the G7 members can work together to grow the global economy. However, Trump’s aggressive trade policies are likely to dominate the proceedings, and could even impact what members can feasibly agree to.“There’s no doubt that around the table, you need to find unity, but at the same time, it’s true that ...

Sumukhi Suresh: `Going to carry the memory of dancing with Dino Morea’

She is someone who cannot justify her existence by doing only one thing; that is why she dabbles in several forms of art, confesses actor-comedian-writer Sumukhi Suresh, when we get on a call with her as she preps for her stand-up in Dubai. The actor, who was recently seen in Netflix’s The Royals, plays assistant to Bhumi Pednekar’s character. The role, originally written for a male actor, was transformed by Suresh, who made it her own by adding her unique flavour. In conversation with mid-day, Suresh talks about the reaction to the show, how it helped pull more audiences for her stand-up special Hoemonal, and why she didn’t have the heart to ogle at Ishaan Khatter’s shirtless avatar. The Garmin 225 and 955 Are Still the Best Value Fitness Watches, and They’re Always on Sale

We may earn a commission from links on this page. If you're looking for a Garmin watch at a great price, the recent drops of the Forerunner 570 and 970 is excellent news—not because you should pick up those models (they're fine, I guess) but because the older generations of Forerunner, which remain excellent watches, are now going for ludicrously low prices. The previous models, the 265 and 965, are great, but you can go back one more generation to the 255 and 955—released in 2022—and save hundreds of dollars without sacrificing any major functionality. I truly can't think of any fitness watch that is a better deal right now, given the prices we're seeing on these two: currently $247 for the Forerunner 255, and $373 for the Forerunner 955,...
