Lyricist Raj Shekhar marks his 100th song with Aap Jaisa Koi`s Mila Tujhe

A century is a milestone worth celebrating. But the insatiable hunger of a writer is evident when we congratulate lyricist Raj Shekhar for having penned his 100th song, and he quips, “Hundred songs seem less in a 14-year career. It should have been 1000!” The song, however, is special in more than one way. Mila Tujhe from Aap Jaisa Koi reunites him with actor R Madhavan, who featured in his maiden film album, Tanu Weds Manu (2011). “On YouTube, people commented that Mila Tujhe reminded them of their college days, when Yun hi from Tanu Weds Manu, was released. Woh padhkar laga umar ho gayi,” he laughs. A still from Aap Jaisa Koi With Mila tujhe, the lyricist reunites with singer and frequent collaborator Vishal Mishra. In an industry where partnerships are rarely permanent, Shekhar has f...

Canadian musician Matthew Good cancels U.S. shows to protest Trump tariffs

Canadian musician Matthew Good has announced that he’s cancelling his U.S. tour dates in protest of U.S. President Donald Trump’s government and its ongoing tariffs policy. Good, 54, made the announcement Saturday on Facebook, telling his U.S. fans that he cannot “in good conscience carry out my dates this summer in your country.”“This is not fair to you, and I’m very well aware of that, but the truth is, every week that goes by, I have a deeper disdain for what’s going on there politically,” the four-time Juno winner wrote.“My world has always focussed [sic] on political awareness, and I know that you might not all be on the same side, so I want to be clear about this,” he continued. “It’s MY opinion, and I’m willing to risk my future US career, to stand up against things today, and god w...

Prime Day 2025 ends tonight, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price-tracking tools before it's over. I've been getting into camping lately, with a heavy focus on being as comfortable as possible. Everything is a give-and-take, however: You can't have a luxurious camping experience while simultaneously packing light. This Jetboil MiniMo is a rare exception to the rule: It weighs less than a pound, boils two cups of water in about two minutes (much faster than my full-size camp stove), and the entire unit packs into the cook cup, so it barely takes up any room. It's perfect for every k...

R Madhavan opens up about insecurities and pressure during school days

R Madhavan is one such actor who can justify any role perfectly, and his latest release, Aap Jaisa Koi proves the same.  The movie holds a special place in Madhavan`s heart as a major part of it was shot in his hometown Jamshedpur, Bihar. During the shoot, the Tanu Weds Manu actor happened to pay a visit to his school, bringing back some not-so-pleasant memories. Talking about the experience, Madhavan revealed that being in the school again reminded him of all the insecurities about his future that he used to feel as a student.  "I got a chance to visit my old school, and as soon as I stepped in, all the insecurities I used to have about my future started coming back. Until 8th or 9th standard, we just enjoyed ourselves, but after that, I became scared about not being successful in life...

Two antibiotics show promise for TB patients with fewer side effects: Lancet

German researchers have developed two novel antibiotics that have shown promise for millions of patients with tuberculosis (TB), leading to lesser side effects than the currently available treatments.  The drugs, sutezolid, and delpazolid, have demonstrated strong antimicrobial activity and a notably better safety profile compared to the currently used linezolid, with the potential to replace this current cornerstone in the treatment of drug-resistant TB. Two international clinical studies on the antibiotics published in two peer-reviewed articles in the journal The Lancet Infectious Diseases showed that both sutezolid and delpazolid are safe, effective, and potential alternatives to linezolid in the treatment of TB. “Seeing fewer side effects with sutezolid and delpazolid is a signific...
