Did Apple Kill Liquid Glass in the Third iOS 26 Developer Beta?

Last week, Apple dropped the third developer beta for iOS 26. It's the first major update to the beta since June, and it's clear that we're getting closer to the public version of the beta (even if Apple hadn't already confirmed it's coming in July). The third beta has fewer features and changes than the second, as Apple presumably focuses on improving the stability of the OS before unleashing it to public testers. But while there aren't a ton of new features and changes in this beta, there are some interesting highlights to report, as initially found by MacRumors. Here's what's new with this latest beta:Liquid Glass looks way less strikingWhile iOS 26 is full of new features and changes, arguably the defining characteristic of this update cycle is Liquid Glass, Apple's big design overhaul...

Gastric issues on rise during monsoon; health experts share prevention tips

With the monsoon season in full swing, there has been a surge in gastric issues among both children and adults, say health experts. The rainy season is known to increase risk of certain infections like dengue, malaria, and typhoid, among others. It is also a time when the risk of contracting gastroenteritis and other gastric issues rises. Health experts are observing a surge in cases of stomach-related problems like diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain in both Mumbai and Pune. “In the last 3-4 weeks, seven out of ten children visited the OPD with abdominal distress, diarrhoea or vomiting,” reveals Dr Siddharth Madabhushi, consultant neonatologist and medical director at Ankura Hospital for Women & Children in Pune. Shouldn’t we have heard about a ‘song of the summer’ by now? – National

Summertime: when the weather, activities, emotions and music coalesce to make memories, for better or worse. I, for example, am still triggered by Heat of the Moment by Asia, which was big during the summer of 1982, during which I suffered a very bad breakup. Even today, a few notes are enough to bring back that university-era hurt. Anything from Green Day’s Dookie immediately transports me to the summer of 1994. You’re probably thinking of your own personal songs of summers gone by.There’s another level to this. Each year, there are one or two songs released in May or June that rise to the level of universal ubiquity by midsummer. It’s the earworm with the contagiousness of the measles. It’s an inescapable hit that no one is capable of avoiding. If you’re not listening, you’re at least he...

Intermittent energy restriction may aid in diabetes control among obese: Study

Dietary approaches like intermittent energy restriction (IER), time-restricted eating (TRE), and continuous energy restriction (CER) can all improve blood sugar levels and body weight in people with obesity and type 2 diabetes, according to a study. Although researchers identified improved HbA1c levels, and adverse events were similar across the three groups, the IER group showed greater advantages in reducing fasting blood glucose, improving insulin sensitivity, lowering triglycerides, and strengthening adherence to the dietary interventions. IER typically involves periods of reduced calorie intake. It differs from intermittent fasting (IF) as it involves periods of complete or near-complete food abstinence. The research directly compared 5:2 intermittent energy restriction with 10-hou...
