Compulsive nature could be why one indulges in self-sabotaging acts: Study

A person`s compulsive nature could be the reason why such individuals indulge in self-destructive behaviour, making harmful choices despite knowing the obvious negative outcomes, according to a new study. The study, published in the journal Nature Communications Psychology, also found that making compulsive decisions did not appear to be random mistakes or people having "bad days". "They`re stable traits — almost like personality types. This is not to say they`re fixed, just that they may require (an) intervention to break," said lead researcher Philip Jean-Richard Dit Bressel, a behavioural neuroscientist and experimental psychologist at The University of New South Wales. Researchers said self-sabotaging choices do not arise out of a lack of motivation or capacity — rather from a subtl...

Google Has Given Us Our First Official Look at the Pixel 10

New devices are getting harder and harder for tech companies to keep under wraps, and after the base Pixel 10 saw new render leaks drop yesterday, followed by Pixel 10 Pro leaks this morning (both via Android Headlines), Google seems to have given up and decided to published a video of the Pixel 10 itself. On a Google Store page for the Pixel 10, the company now shows a short sequence with the number 10 transforming into a Pixel camera bar, before zooming out to reveal the phone in its full glory. While the company didn’t say whether this is the base model or the pro model, the store page and URL only mentions “Pixel 10.” Still, the phone in the video does look a lot more like how the Pixel 10 Pro is rumored to look. That’s a bit disappointing, since the base Pixel 10 is the one that’s set t...

Carney says he’ll only take ‘best deal for Canada’ in U.S. trade talks

Prime Minister Mark Carney says negotiations with the United States on trade and security will aim to get the “best deal for Canada.” Carney spoke ahead of meeting with Canada’s premiers in Huntsville, Ont., where he is joining the talks on how to build a stronger Canadian economy and tear down internal trade barriers in the face of U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war and tariffs.“What we collectively, alternatively, can most control is building a stronger economy, moving from alliance to resilience and division to unity,” Carney told the media ahead of discussions with premiers.“That will require support for affected industries: lumber, steel, aluminum, automobiles, particularly.”One of the biggest challenges in the current trade war with the U.S., which Carney has been focused on thr...

The Public Beta for iOS 26 Might Drop Tomorrow

Apple has been beta testing iOS 26 since announcing the update at WWDC, so the tech world has had plenty of chances to see what changes the company is cooking up for the fall. The thing is, this beta is only supposedly to be for iOS developers—though that hasn't stopped the general public from installing the update. While I've strongly discouraged non-developers from running these betas, I have good news: The public beta is nearly here. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who has a track record for accurate Apple reporting, Apple is planning iOS 26's public beta "around the 23rd" of July. Gurman's reporting is followed up by a MacRumors source, a private account on X, who shared leaked build numbers for Apple's upcoming round of updates on Monday—including the fourth developer beta for i...

City doctors find reason why woman suffered from severe headaches for more 3 yrs

Living with medical conditions is often difficult and may often go unnoticed in many cases as people believe it is not so serious, as is the case of a 31-year-old woman, married with children. She had been battling severe headaches for over three years pain so intense and constant that she relied on daily painkillers just to function.  While she was repeatedly diagnosed with migraine in the past, there was no real relief. As she felt her life was shrinking around her, she opted to meet Mumbai-based health expert Dr Sheetal Goyal, who is a consultant neurologist at Wockhardt Hospitals in Mumbai Central. After all the necessary tests, Dr Goyal found that it was a regrowth of a hormone-secreting pituitary tumour. Initially referred as a routine case of migraine, Dr Goyal noticed key red fla...
