Lisa Mishra claps back at detractors questioning her acting stint

Singer and songwriter Lisa Mishra, who made her acting debut with Call Me Bae (2024), has begun table reads for its second season. With Mishra reprising her role of a primetime news show producer in the Ananya Panday-led comedy, many on social media questioned why she was exploring acting instead of making music. Responding sharply to the comments, she said that she considers herself an artiste first. “I’ve always been inspired by artistes like Lady Gaga, who don’t limit their creative and artistic expression to music alone. She seamlessly blends performance, acting, and storytelling into her journey. That motivates me to embrace all sides of myself, whether it’s singing, acting, performing live, or even connecting with the audience through my podcast,” she said. Mishra, who followed up C...

The White House says further trade negotiations with Ottawa are “futile” if Canadians “can’t be serious,” after U.S. President Donald Trump terminated the talks. Apple Removed the Controversial ‘Tea’ and ‘TeaOnHer’ Apps From the App Store

Credit: Credit: Ian Moore / Lifehacker Composite; Tea Dating Advice Inc. / Lindsey Ellefson Though it brings me no pleasure, it's once again time to discuss the viral apps Tea and TeaOnHer. You may remember them from the summer, when Tea—where women could anonymously rate and discuss men under the pretense of helping each other safely navigate dating—was the target of data breaches that exposed users' personal information. From there, an app called TeaOnHer was launched for men and Tea faced a class action from users who were upset about their private data being easily accessible to hackers. Whether you remember them or not, they're gone now—sort of. Apple has yanked them from the App Store. The App Store removal of Tea and TeaOnHerTea was arou...

Exercise can counteract depression symptoms induced by junk food diet: Study

People eating more junk food can counteract its ill effects on mental health by cardio exercises such as running, according to an animal study on Tuesday, October 21, amid the growing concern of its long-term changes on the body. Researchers at University College Cork in Ireland identified specific metabolic pathways through which exercise counteracts the negative behavioural effects of consuming a Western-style diet. The research demonstrated that voluntary running exercise can mitigate depression-like behaviours induced by high-fat, high-sugar diets associated with both circulating hormones and gut-derived metabolites. “The findings provide crucial insights into how lifestyle interventions might be optimised to support mental health in an era of widespread ultra-processed food consump...
