The ICC World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be held in India
On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the eagerly awaited schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023. The defending champions, England, will kick off the tournament against New Zealand in the opening match on October 5 in Ahmedabad.
The prestigious Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which boasts a seating capacity of 132,000, will serve as the venue for five matches, including the highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan on October 15.
The 46-day tournament will feature ten teams competing across ten cities. In addition to Ahmedabad, the other host cities are Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. Each city will host five matches throughout the tournament.
