Supercell is a 2023 disaster film directed by Herbert James Winterstern (Siberia). The movie is about Quinn Brody (Anne Heche), a storm chaser who used to follow storms with her husband, Bill (Richard Gunn). During one particular storm, Quinn stays home with their son, William (Daniel Diemer), while Bill goes to chase a tornado. Bill ends up dying, along with two college students, during the tornado. Years pass and Quinn and William live in Florida. Despite his mother’s best efforts, William is pulled to storms like his father. Source link

In 2003, an Erie, Pennsylvania pizza delivery man named Brian Wells robbed a local bank only to be quickly surrounded by police. Rather than surrender to the armed officers, Wells was killed when explosive devices inside the collar he had locked around his neck detonated. As the ATF, Pennsylvania State Police, and the FBI began investigating, they revealed that Wells did not act alone in the robbery/suicide. As Evil Genius begins to unfold, it’s revealed that a woman named Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong was impatiently waiting for her father to die so that she would receive her inheritance. Not willing to wait until nature took its inevitable course on the old man, Diehl-Armstrong opted to hire a man named Kenneth Barnes to kill him. But what in the world does this have to do with a pizza delive...

Before you can properly appreciate this tale of a much-needed retcon, it’s important to get a primer on both of these episodes. The TNG episode “Unnatural Selection” has the Enterprise crew dealing with a virus that accelerates aging, much as Kirk had to deal with in the TOS episode “The Deadly Years.” Meanwhile, the DS9 episode “Doctor Bashir, I Presume” is about Dr. Lewis Zimmerman sizing Dr. Bashir up as the model for the Federation’s latest holographic doctor, but this leads to the revelation that Bashir’s parents had him genetically augmented at a young age, a practice which is outlawed in the Federation. Throughout every season of The Boys, it’s clear that Homelander’s ego is all-important to him: the world doesn’t really need The Seven, but having an entire team makes Homelander feel like a powerful leader. Ego is why he doesn’t just kill Butcher…for him, it would be much more rewarding for the dying man to see the supes win and, most importantly, for Ryan to choose Homelander over Butcher. Ego is also why he has anyone at Vought with dirt on the supes hunted down: he’s not protecting his invulnerable body but protecting his very vulnerable ego and reputation, both of which are vitally important. Little Evil is a brilliant and hilarious riff on the hit 1976 horror film The Omen, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to making subtle homages to the film in the form of story lines, character sketches, and numerous other little references any fan of the classic movie would be sure to catch. For example, the character played by Sally Field, Miss Shaylock, is a spoof of Mrs. Baylock (played by Billie Whitelaw), the protective cult member/nanny from The Omen. Of course, little Lucas is a funnier, more precocious version of the malevolent Damien from The Omen. But Lucas is only “a little evil,” according to his new stepfather, unlike the David Seltzer toddler that was truly the devil incarnate. Source link

It’s possible, of course, that Kylo Ren was simply lying and manipulating Rey, but I always found his offer fascinating: while the various Star Wars films and related media portrayed the Sith as unfeeling monsters, the Jedi are presented as bored, myopic authoritarians. Cranky Luke Skywalker was frankly right about the incompetence of the Jedi Order, and if he had actually seen it through, Kylo Ren’s idea about forgetting the past and introducing a new kind of Force user to the galaxy could have been just the shakeup this tired franchise really needed. The astronaut at the heart of this X-Files episode is Marcus Aurelius Belt, and we quickly find out that Mulder is a huge fan of this guy. He excitedly tells Scully about the mission where Belt nearly died, and when Scully expresses surprise that her partner remembers that mission, Mulder asks her if she never wanted to be an astronaut when she was a kid. Scully dryly replies that she must have “missed that phase,” and when they meet Belt, Mulder wants to shake his hand, nervously admitting that he’s a “big fan” and that the astronaut was “a big hero to me when I was a kid.” Source link

However, it does appear that Dan Stevens is looking to expand his talents and ambitions beyond just acting, as he is also an executive producer for The Terror season 3. When actors take on that role for projects it is usually an indicator that the role is a passion project for them. So perhaps in addition to building his credentials as a leading man, he also wants to do more to finance works that he has strong feelings about helping to make it to the screen. For fans of the anthology series, they will unfortunately have to wait a fair bit longer to enjoy the latest season. It will not be until some time in 2025 that the Devil in Silver season debuts.
