High fashion couture runway showcase during international fashion week in Paris
PARIS — The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode opened its autumn presentations on Wednesday with a historic emphasis on regenerative luxury, as seventeen major fashion houses pledged to phase out virgin synthetics by 2028.
Runway shows across the Seine featured architectural tailoring constructed entirely from laboratory-spun mushroom mycelium leather and zero-dye organic linen, drawing critical acclaim from international buyers.
"Couture has always dictated the visual aspirations of consumer fashion; proving that ultra-luxury can exist harmoniously with zero carbon footprints is our definitive responsibility," noted lead guest curator Hélène de Montfort during the opening salon.
